About Campus Ministry and our mission:
The Office of Campus Ministry welcomes students of all faith traditions and provides opportunities for worship, prayer, and service for the entire campus community.
Rooted in our Catholic and Basilian heritage, we foster the charisms of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge to promote religious expression, peace, justice, and a culture of service.
Your Support is Needed this Spring:
Each year during spring break, Campus Ministry embarks on a week-long trip to serve another community, to experience a different culture and to encounter new people. The service trip is open to any current student. The service trip embodies the mission and vision of St. John Fisher College to “engage individuals in lives of intellectual inquiry, professional integrity, and civic responsibility, where diversity and service to others are valued and practiced.”
In four short years campus ministry has taken 6 students to Houston, Texas; 25 students to Tampa, Florida; 25 students to Knoxville, Tennessee and this year, 31 students, again to Houston, Texas. Students are asked to make a minimal deposit of their own to commit to the trip. The remainder of the trip expenses are dependent on fundraising opportunities facilitated by the campus ministry staff. This annual service trip can cost up to $35,000 depending on location and transportation costs. We kindly ask for your help to support our students as they choose to spend their spring break serving others, feeding the hungry, building homes and being a listening ear to those in need. Our service trip brings the Basilian moto to life: teach me goodness, discipline and knowledge in the action of service to those we encounter.
Any amount will help!
